Budget for 2025/26
As required by law, the budget cycle has now begun;
Text of emails sent to stakeholders (Hwb; Ysgol; GCSA; Church House) re 2025/26 budget:
‘The Glan Conwy Community Council is currently preparing its budget for the 2025/26 financial year and is looking for input from organisations and individuals in the village.
If you are aware of any forthcoming projects or events that may require funding from the Council then can you please let me know as soon as possible and in any event no later than the end of November.
This is not a formal invitation to apply for a grant and does not guarantee that applications will be successful. At this stage we are only looking for indications of the sums involved in order to calculate our budget for that financial year.’
Requested input at the October council meeting - no response yet;
Waiting for Sylvia to translate before uploading onto digital platforms for wider distribution;
November is the time for incorporating responses and firming up ideas. The budget will be on the agenda for the next council meeting;
The draft budget must be presented at the December meeting and, if not before, approved in January. The Precept demand must be submitted to CCBC by 17th January.
CB - Xmas lights estimates 2024/25 £2800, 2025/26 £3000 o/w half is capital spend. Other items highlighted in yellow to be discussed by council next week.

Any other business
HMRC PAYE account reactivated to pay Clare; discovered that we apparently owe £400 and counting; I have gone through past bank statements and formally challenged this.
Not yet received anything from Audit Wales (other councils have started to receive their audit reports).
Still awaiting the letter from CCBC re contributions to playgrounds, bus shelters.
Next meeting: Monday 2nd December
