My wife and I moved into the village eight years ago after selling up our vegetable growing business.  Apart from the obvious natural attractions of the area two of our three children have married into Welsh families and live and work in North Wales. Three grandchildren to date and counting!

The country generally needs to find ways of coping with the effects of pollution, loss of biodiversity and an increasingly unstable climate.  I joined the Council in May 2023 with a particular desire to help Llan deal with the problems that these are bringing to all our daily lives, bringing people together to protect and develop our residents, facilities and environment.

I support our local bus and train services, such as they are.  We are very lucky to have both and it would be fantastic if we could encourage more people in the village to use them; that is the best way to press for more reliable, frequent services.

My career pre-veggie growing was in finance and so, in the absence of a qualified Clerk, I have been able to take on the role of acting finance officer helping to keep the councils financial controls up-to-date and working effectively.

Raised in Abergele, I attended local schools and started my career as an Engineer on the construction of Dinorwig Power Station. I have been lucky enough to work in some lovely parts of the world. I returned to Wales in 2013 and retired a few years later settling in Glan Conwy.

I have been welcomed into the local community with open arms and made to feel at home.  I enjoy helping others hence me joining the Community Council in 2023. My pastimes include walking our 3 mad beagles, cycling (albeit on an ebike), enjoying the beauty that north wales gives us and all things country.
